This Mother’s Day, i’m sharing a snippet of my mum and how brave and inspirational she is.
Put it in your diaries 11th March is Mothering Sunday. Oh boy, mothers deserve a day of their own where they can be recognised as the true queens they are!
My mother is a real life super hero. When you are young they make ‘adulting’ look blooming easy. Even though I am well into adulthood, I still don’t know how she managed to do it!
Here is a bit about my mum.
She raised me all by herself,
With a bit of help from everyone else,
My father passed away when I was five,
He didn’t want anything to do with me when he was alive,
Straight back to work when I was two weeks old,
So she could have control of how our future would unfold,
Into her step classes in my carry cot,
Where I would sit at the back, like it or not.
We never had many material possessions,
Instead her money would fund holiday obsessions,
Mum’s priority was the quality of time she spent with me,
The quantity was spent working long hours being a busy bee,
We would play and giggle, sunbathe and sleep,
Filling our days with adventures, creating memories we could keep,
Her work ethic was something to be admired,
Always making time for me even when she was so tired,
My mother taught me about work hard and determination,
How to adapt, develop and build even when facing frustrations,
At times she was definitely winging it,
But it didn’t show it one bit,
On this Mother’s Day,
I just wanted to say,
Thank you for the sacrifices you’ve made,
And let it be know my love for you will never fade,
This Mother’s Day you deserve a pressie or two,
Just to show how much I love you x
