A 'green' Valentine's

A 'green' Valentine's

Even though we think that love should be celebrated every day of the year, February 14th serves as a little reminder to show your cherished ones and yourself just how much you love them. However, the day of love can have quite a big impact on the planet, so we’ve curated a list of fabulous gift ideas that are eco-friendly and support your local community/small businesses.

Set the mood

Relax and unwind with a gorgeous, handmade candle. Many candles which are sold on the highstreet are full of nasties and are definitely not what you want to be intoxicating your environment. Treat yourself or a loved one to one of our vegan, eco-friendly candles; with three ranges to choose from there is definitely a scent suited to everybody. The beautiful aromas of essential oils will be sure to set the mood for this day of love.

Get glowing

Why not gift something that’s ethical, natural and indulgent. Check out our beauty range in store; you could put together a ‘Pamper Hamper’, using a selection of handmade, natural goodies including bath salts, face mists, lip & body balms and zero-waste shampoo & soap bars. Create a wonderful, specially selected mix to suit your loved one or gift it to yourself...we all deserve a pamper!

Add a little sparkle

You can’t go wrong with something shiny for a loved one. We stock local jewellery from Kate Chell’s collection. From rings to bracelets, necklaces and even cufflinks for him. Kate’s jewellery collections come straight from the heart; by melting and hammering the silver, the simple organic designs take on a unique, natural feel. The pieces are often complemented with rough cut semi-precious and precious stones to add colour and glamour. Any piece from her collection would make a wonderful and sentimental gift.

Freshly cut

Flowers say “I love you” like no other gift. Surprise a loved one with a beautiful bouquet or even treat yourself. On the 13th and 14th of Feb we will be having a pop-up florist from Essentially Floral in our upstairs space; pop in to take a look at her beautifully crafted bouquets, you won’t be able to resist.

Get creative

Give the gift of learning something new and having a little fun. We have plenty of upcoming workshops, it’s something you could do together or come on your own and make some new friends! On Sat 15th Feb we are hosting a Cake Decoration workshop in which you can make a Valentine’s themed cake! Luckily we have a couple of spaces left, click here if you’re interested.      These are just a few ideas we think would go down a treat; going green this valentine is an admirable choice and we hope we’ve inspired you to do so. Don’t forget to also gift yourself one of these great items as loving yourself is just as important!
